Chicago Pride Party :: June 24, 2012
The crowd at the Vic on Sheffield enjoyed top acts like the Scissor Sisters and its openly gay lead singer Jake Shear. Later, across the street at Berlin Nightclub, the band’s DJ, along with Jake, and Rapper Rye Rye, showed up.

Edge Paparazzi migrated down the road to Houston to celebrate Pride. Showcasing more than 200 contingents and exhibitors and multiple stages, the Festival brought out an estimated crowd of 60,000.

Kennedy Center to Display Panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt
The seven arts-related panels will include tributes to Alvin Ailey, Rudolf Nureyev, Howard Ashman, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and more. The Quilt now consists of more than 48,000 panels representing the lives of 94,000 individuals taken by AIDS.

Grand Marshals Cyndi Lauper, Phyllis Siegel, Chris Salgardo and Connie Kopelov led the NYC Pride parade down Fifth Avenue towards the West Village. This year also marked the one year anniversary of New York’s same-sex marriage law. We got pics!

For two days Halsted Street enjoyed Pride Fest with a variety of booth vendors selling food, drinks, and novelties. Entertainment included pop singer Jojo, and Weather girl Martha Wash whose booming voice proclaimed that "It’s Raining Men" in Chitown.
