Youth Pride Day Returns to the Circle for 2012
While Youth Pride Day may have gotten its start in Dupont Circle, there was much more room out of the way down at P Street Beach. Marking the 15th anniversary of the Youth Pride Alliance’s signature event, however, Youth Pride Day returned to the circle.

Mayor Buddy Dyer spoke to the thousands of parade attendees welcoming them to Orlando’s Gay Pride event. Grand Marshall Jonathan Lovitz from LOGO TV rode on the Wells Fargo horse-drawn Coach, VIP Ticket holders were treated to food by Darden Restaurants "Bahama Breeze" Restaurant serving freshly made paella, tortilla chips, salsa, salads, open bar, and desserts. Entertainment by DJ Nick at the Disney Amphitheatre, floats by Parliament House, Revolution, Recko’s, Darden Restaurant Group, Pulse Nighclub, Al and Chuck Travel, and groups such as PFLAG from five counties, Studio Out [the Universal Orlando GLBT Organization], PRIDE Disney’s GLBT Organization, Gay-Straight Alliances from UCF, Rollins College, Valencia Community College, Orlando Fringe Festival and many more, all made for a fantastic event. Palm Canyon Theatre’s Gay Pride drag pageant was a star-studded affair... Ashley Araya Sparks won the big tiara, but with a bevy of fabulous drag queens, song and dance performances, and Jimmy James rocking the house, Palm Springs was the clear winner.

Gay Pride Continues Into Autumn
While cities in colder climates had their Pride events in the late Spring and through the Summer, warmer regions are still celebrating, allowing the Pride season to extend into the Autumn.
Miss Florida F.I. Legends Event @ Mister Sisters :: October 9, 2011
Despite pouring rain and strong winds, the gay community showed up in droves for the Miss Florida F.I. Legends Event hosted by The Minxx and Alicia Masrkstone. Former Miss Florida F.I. Legends including, Esme Russell, Bobbi Lake, Heather Fontaine, Dana Douglas, Tiffany Arieagus, and Tasha Long were there to help make this a great event.

The Abbey was host for the 2011 Miss Pride Orlando. All seven contestants did a beautiful job, with last year’s winner Alana T. Michaels presenting the crown to this year’s winner Kiana Sante.
