RI Pride Festival :: June 20, 2009
With the theme of "Paint the Town Proud - Create, Act, Inspire" the RI Pride Committee held the 33rd Annual Pride Festival at Station Park in Providence. Thousands came out to visit the vendors, walk the dog, and enjoy the acts on the main stage. The day ended on a high note with Debra Gibson giving a full performance for the crowds as the sun set. Stonewall Pride Parade 2009 :: June 20, 2009
Stonewall Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale held the 2009 Stonewall Pride Parade on Saturday, June 20. This year marked the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, recognized as the catalyst for the modern gay rights movement and everyone was invited to honor this historic event during this parade. Chris Harris Brings Deborah Cox to Providence :: June 19, 2009
Chris Harris returned to Providence to help the RI Pride Committee with a fund raising party the opening night of the 33rd Pride Festival Weekend at Lupo’s, and to turn up the heat he brought Deborah Cox who gave a wonderful live performance that had her fans singing along with their favorites tunes. EDGE was there and lets you see what happened behind, on and in front of the stage!
Folsom Street East :: June 21, 2009
Folsom Street East, New York’s s/m-leather-fetish themed street festival, took place this past Sunday over Leather Pride Weekend and drew nearly 10,000 visitors. This leather event included performances from feature Billboard Top Ten recording artist Sylvia Tosun, as well as Peppermint, Reina, Miss Guy, the Johns, The Imperial Court of New York, Noa Tylo, Trai La Trash and Fredrick Ford. RI Pride VIP Party :: June 19, 2009
The 33 Pride Festival Weekend opened with the 2nd Annual VIP Party for the Volunteers, Supporters and Donors who make the Pride Festival possible. A highlight of the evening was the first ever lighting of the RI Statehouse in the colors of the Rainbow! EDGE was there and got the photos of this historic night for you to enjoy.

Stonewall today :: the fight goes on...
40 years after Stonewall, there are still plenty of things to fight for. Just because we’re celebrating a milestone in fighting for our equality doesn’t mean it’s time to rest on our laurels. Many gay Americans still can’t get married, serve in the military, adopt children and enjoy freedom from employment discrimination. While throwing bricks, bottles and parking meters won’t work now like it did at Stonewall, you can do plenty of good with less violent means like these.
