Pride Idol @ Club Cafe :: June 9, 2010
It was quite a night for Berklee School of Music grad Angela Rolling this past Wednesday at Club Cafe. She beat out nine other finalists to win this year’s Pride Idol and the opportunity to sing at the Pride Celebration at City Hall Plaza on Saturday. The celebrity judges at the event included a trio of RuPaul Drag Race winners Tyra Sanchez, Raven and Jujubee. EDGE was on hand -- here are the pics.

Nate Phelps -- Son of Fred -- Kicks Off Pittsburgh Pride
The 51-year-old estranged son of anti-gay Baptist preacher Fred Phelps says that his childhood was marred by episodes of intense violence, and says that the laws should be less "curiously blind" to child abuse that is perpetrated in the name of religious faith.

Strict policing, no arrests at Moscow gay parades
Two Gay Pride parades were held without arrests in Moscow on Saturday, the first time the notoriously intolerant Russian authorities have not intervened since the inaugural attempt to hold the event in the capital in 2006.
Neo-Nazis Break up Slovakia’s 1st Gay Pride March
In what the Slovakian press is calling "a day of shame," that nation’s first Pride march was broken up by neo-Nazi Groups, who attacked marchers with eggs, tear gas, and their fists. In the wake of the attack, the full-scale Pride parade, which had been scheduled to take place subsequent to the rally and march, was cancelled due to security concerns.
