Soul Kitchen, winner of many international film festival awards, is coming to DVD. At first, it may seem like a hot mess of a movie whose main character is as messed up as his cheap pub/restaurant in Hamburg, Germany. Once it gets going, you find out that Zinos, the owner, is a very deep character who's just trying to make it. He is on again off again with Nadine, while he also employs his deadbeat thief of a brother as a waiter. The attractive waitress engages in minor flirtations with said brother, which provides some complications in the restaurant.

Unfortunately, mired in the plot of flailing love, is the failing restaurant, which Zinos stocks with good beer and terrible microwavable pizzas. In an effort to up the cuisine, a top chef that is largely regarded as extremely hard to work, is hired to attempt to turn the kitchen around and teach Zinos chef skills. A former classmate of Zinos, who is now a property developer, tries to leverage his friendship and the failing restaurant in an effort to purchase it on the cheap to complete a development deal.

Will Soul Kitchen get eaten up by corporate Germany? Will Zinos diagnose the weird back condition that plagues him for the whole movie? All this and more on the DVD release, which includes interviews with the cast and crew.
