'OITNB' Star Lea DeLaria Gets Engaged

Sorry, ladies! "Orange Is the New Black" star Lea DeLaria has taken time from her busy performances at Lincoln Center's American Songbook series to announce that she and her longtime partner are getting hitched.

"Despite their concerns about the patriarchal confines of marriage, actor/singer Lea DeLaria & editrix Chelsea Fairless of Brooklyn, New York are pleased to announce their engagement. No date has been set for the impending nuptials but it's safe to say that it will be the event of the season, or a total shit show," she writes on her Facebook page.

The LGBT news website Boom further notes that DeLaria, who was born and raised in Belleville, Illinois, was the first out comedian to appear on a late-night talk show. The groundbreaking performer will be honored in Chicago on Valentine's Day with the Equality Illinois Freedom Award.
