Maybe Stewie and Brian really do have a time machine.

A clip from a 2009 episode of Fox's "Family Guy" is making its way around social media this week. The video shows the animated series' characters, Stewie and Brian Griffin, talking about Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner) and how he is really a woman, Uproxx points out.

In the episode, called "We Love You, Conrad," where Brian dated "The Hills" star Lauren Conrad, Stewie makes a throwaway joke about Jenner, saying the press wants people to believe Jenner is a man, but in reality, she is a woman.

"Bruce Jenner is a woman," Stewie says, adding, "A beautiful, elegant, Dutch woman."

There have been rumors for years that Jenner was undergoing hormone treatments so it's possible the writers of "Family Guy" made a crack at the Olympic champion after picking up on the allegations. Uproxx writer Stacey Ritzen adds, "I'm not sure if 'Family Guy' was attempting to make an insensitive joke at the time, or if it was just totally random.

The website points out Fox's sitcom "Married....With Children" also made a Jenner joke in an episode from 1996 where a man asks the character Marcy if she is Bruce Jenner.

This isn't the first time an animated series predicted the future. Though more lighthearted, a 2004 episode of "South Park" predicted the 2011 Adam Sandler film "Jack in Jill" (one of the worst movies of all time; it's the first film to win every category at the Raspberry Awards) where the comedian plays a man who has a female twin sister...whom he also plays.
