PopUps: Boy George Allegedly Said He Slept With Prince
Boy George, who recently joined the U.K.'s "The Voice" as a coach, apparently halted the show's production after allegedly saying he slept with music icon Prince.
The 80s legend allegedly made the claim, which he later denied, during the competition reality show's live addition stage in front of a studio audience, the Daily Mail reports.
Boy George's comments came when the other "The Voice" judges, Will.i.am, indie rocker Ricky Wilson and pop singer Paloma Faith, were discussing people with whom they've collaborated.
"I have duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson," Boy George, 54, allegedly said.
"Well OK, if we're throwing big soul names out there, I've performed with Prince," Paloma said.
"Forget that, darling, I've slept with Prince," Boy George allegedly replied.
A source told the newspaper the Sun Boy George's comments "sent the audience absolutely wild and forced producers to stop filming." A production source told the Sun the crew couldn't believe what they heard and the crowd went "absolutely wild." They added the other judges high-fived the Culture Club singer.
"Production staff had to come up on stage and speak to them," the source said. "After that, Boy George started backtracking saying he hadn't really slept with Prince and that in reality, he just had his poster on his wall. But as far as the crowd were concerned the cat was already out of the bag."
