PopUps: Chris Hemsworth Posts Shocking Weight-Loss Pic

Monday November 23, 2015

Beefy Hollywood hunk Chris Hemsworth posted a shocking picture of himself Sunday, showing the dramatic weight he lost for his upcoming film "In the Heart of the Sea."

"In the Heart of the Sea," directed by Ron Howard, is based on the same historic events that inspired the novel "Moby Dick," and was filmed in 2013. In contrast, the shocking weight-loss pic is a dramatic change from the "Thor" star's large role in "Vacation."

Back in August, Hemsworth spoke with Entertainment Weekly about losing the weight.

"When I started, I was leaner than my Thor weight, anyway... When you're already starting off lean, it's brutal to chew through that kind of weight," he said. "Every pound feels like a kilogram.... We kind of went insane, weighing ourselves every day.

"We all felt like a bunch of supermodels, trying to get down in weight for a show, or something," Hemsworth contend. "That's all we spoke about. You've got 15 burly blokes on the sea and all we talked about was our diet, and who'd lost more weight, and who's looking really skinny. It's ridiculous!"
