PopUps: Britney and Katy Release New Singles
You're gay little heart is about to explode.
Pop divas Britney Spears and Katy Perry released new songs Friday.
It's been awhile since we heard from Brit Brit, whose last single came with the 2015 Iggy Azalea collab "Pretty Girls," but her newest single "Make Me..." is already on fire.
E! Online reports the 34-year-old singer's newest track skyrocketed on iTunes, dethroning Justin Timberlake's "Trolls" song "Can't Stop the Feeling!" from the no. 1 position.
The "Work Bitch" sing is currently working on a new record, her follow-up to the not-so-good 2013 album "Britney Jean." She's also teased another single called "Private Show" to promote her new perfume.
The Pop Gods blessed us today: Brit isn't the only mega star to drop a single. Katy Perry released a new song called "Rise," an anthem for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
"This is a song that's been brewing inside me for years, that has finally come to the surface. I was inspired to finish it now, rather than save it for my next album, because now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite," Pretty told E! News in a statement. "I know that together we can rise above the fear-in our country, and around the world. I can't think of a better example than the Olympic athletes, as they gather in Rio with their strength and fearlessness, to remind us how we ALL can come together, with the resolve to be the best we can be. I hope this song can inspire us to heal, unite, and rise together. I am honored that NBC Olympics has chosen to use it as an anthem before and during the Rio Games."
"Rise" makes Perry's first new song since her 2012 album "Prism."
