PopUps: Gaga Shares Details On Upcoming Single 'Perfect Illusion'

Thursday August 18, 2016

Lady Gaga riled up her little monsters Wednesday when she revealed her new single from her upcoming fifth album will drop next month. The pop star gave a few more details about the song, called "Perfect Illusion," by previewing it at iHeartRadio's Music Summit in New York Wednesday, Idolator points out.

"Perfect Illusion" is produced by Mark Ronson ("Uptown Funk") and Kevin Parker, the frontman of the indie rock band Tame Impala. iHeartRadio writes the track "finds a sweet space in Mother Monster's catalogue alongside some of her best dance floor anthems. It's a cut that touches the highest of highs and lowest of lows in a relationship gone wrong, thus, the perfect illusion."

The "American Horror Story" actress commented on the song too.

"The song is about modern ecstasy . . . .We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it," she said at the event.

Entreatment Weekly provided a few more possible details about Gaga's new record, dubbed LG5 by fans, pointing to a quote from Gaga when she attended the Golden Globes this year and said her new record will be out by the end of 2016.

EW also notes the phrase "Chaos Angel" might be involved with LG5, whether that's the LP title or another song. Additionally, besides working with Ronson and Parker, Gaga is rumored to have worked with disco legend Giorgio Moroder, RedOne ("Poker Face," "Just Dance"), legendary songwriter Diane Warren, Chic's Nile Rodgers, and more.
