PopUps: Lady Gaga Announces New Album, Release Date
Nearly a week after she released her new single "Perfect Illusion," Lady Gaga revealed the name of her new album and its release date.
Her fifth studio album "Joanne" will drop Oct. 21, she announced during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple's Beats 1 Thursday, Pitchfork points out.
Mother Monster said "Joanne" is named after her late aunt, which is also her middle name - Gaga's real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta.
The pop star worked with Mark Ronson, who produced most of "Joanne," Tame Impala's Kevin Parker and Bloodpop for "Perfect Illusion." Gaga's forthcoming LP also features collaborations with Beck, Florence and the Machine's Florence Welch, and indie rocker Father John Misty. Hillary Lindsey, who wrote Carry Underwood's "Jesus Take the Wheel" and Little Big Town's "Girl Crush," who wrote some songs on "Joanna" too.
