PopUps: Ever Read 'A Streetcar Naked Desire'?

Wednesday March 22, 2017

Every now and then a "Wheel of Fortune" blunder goes viral. But the most recent fail currently spreading across social media might rank among the most epic in the gameshow's history.

A contestant named Kevin on the Tuesday episode of "Wheel of Fortune" may have flunked out of his high school English class. Presented with an incredibly easy puzzle (the clue was "Title") to solve, he still managed to fail and couldn't name Tennessee Williams' classic play "A Streetcar Named Desire." All that was missing was the "M" in "Named."

In a clip, the player spins the wheel, lands on $600, and then host Pat Sajak asks him to name a letter. Instead of shouting "M," Kevin confidently calls out "K," which means he thought the answer was "A Streetcar Naked Desire."

After the audience moans with surprise, and another player correctly guesses the puzzle, Sajak has a little fun.

"And although you got the right answer, I'd rather see Kevin's play," the host said.
