PopUps: Did Ryan Murphy Just Explain How 'AHS' Seasons Connect?
Gearing up for the seventh season of "American Horror Story," showrunner and co-creator Ryan Murphy took to Instagram over the weekend to tease the upcoming installment and how it's connected to previous iteration of the series.
Murphy shared a screenshot of his Notes app, which list the 9 circles of hell: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Next to some of the stages, Murphy wrote the names of past seasons as well as the new season, "American Horror Story: Cult." A few of the circles are left blank, like violence and lust. As Entertainment Weekly notes, "AHS" has been renewed through Season 9.
Fans have speculated that the seasons are connected as characters from "American Horror Story" have popped up in different seasons, despite the series being an anthology.
"AHS: Cult" will debut Sept. 5.
