PopUps: Get Your First Look at 'Big Little Lies' Season 2
The second season of the highly anticipated HBO drama "Big Little Lies" is underway and its stars have taken to social media to tease fans with a behind-the-scenes snap of the show.
Both "BLL" stars Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern shared a photo of themselves on the set of the show. The actresses are seen sitting at an outdoor table at the Seaside Coffee Shop, featured in the show.
"Watch out Monterey, here we come! #BLL2," Witherspoon captioned the pic. Referencing their characters, Dern wrote: "Madeline and Renata are back. #BLL2."
Both Witherspoon and Dern will reprise their "BLL" characters as well as stars Nicole Kidman as Celeste Wright, Shailene Woodley as Jane Chapman, Zo� Kravitz as Bonnie Carlson, Adam Scott as Madeline's husband Ed. James Tupper, Jeffrey Nordling and Iain Armitage will also be back in their Season 1 roles.
It was previously reported Meryl Streep will join Season 2 as Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Perry Wright, played by Alexander Skarsgard.
TV writing vet David E. Kelly will pen all the Season 2 episodes based on the novel by Liane Moriarty. All episodes of Season 1 were directed by Jean-Marc Vallee but filmmaker Andrea Arnold ("American Honey") will helm all of the new episodes.
