PopUps: Lena Dunham Cast in Quentin Tarantino's New Movie
Quentin Tarantino upcoming film "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" has a star-studded cast, which already includes Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie (who will play late actress Sharon Tate) as its leads. Adding to the cast is now - Lena Dunham, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Along with the "Girls" star/writer/creator, Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman's daughter Maya Hawke, who will appear in Season 3 of "Stranger Things," will also appear in QT's movie. Dunham will play Catherine Share, a member of the Manson Family, who was involved in the Tate murders.
THR writes "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is set in L.A. in 1969 and follows "Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), the former star of a Western TV series, and his longtime stunt double, Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), who are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don't recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor: Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie)."
It was previously announced that Burt Reynolds, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Scotty McNairy, Mike Mitch (as Bruce Lee!), and many more will appear in the film, which is scheduled to be released in summer 2019.
Last year, Dunham played another real-life iconic figure of the late 60s in "American Horror Story: Cult," taking on Valerie Solanas, a radical feminist who attempted to kill Andy Warhol in 1968.
Dunham's acclaimed HBO comedy "Girls" finished its final season last year.
