PopUps: Bieber's New Single 'Yummy' Narrowly Misses Billboard No. 1 Spot
After pleading with fans to stream his new single "Yummy" in order to get the song to no. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100, Justin Bieber's track just missed the coveted spot.
The Canadian pop star's new song lands at no. 2 on the chart. Rapper Roddy Ricch's "The Box" beat out "Yummy," rising from no. 3 to no. 1, making it the musician's first no. 1 single.
"Yummy" debuted at the no. 2 spot after Bieber released the song and its accompanying music video last week.
Bieber had been taking to social media to encourage fans to buy the new track on iTunes and stream it on Spotify and Apple Music. Video clips of the singer asking fans to listen to "Yummy" went viral.
