Provincetown Film Festival Cancels June Event
The Provincetown Film Festival, an event that kicks off the summer season in the resort, has been canceled. It was scheduled for June 17-22. The news came in a letter to Provincetown Film Society supporters, signed by Rachael C. Brister, the CEO of the Provincetown Film Society, and Lisa Viola, the Artistic Director of the festival. It reads as follows:
"We are deeply saddened to announce that we are not able to produce The 22nd Annual Provincetown International Film Festival (PIFF), originally scheduled for June 17-21. The health and safety of our staff, patrons, audience and everyone involved in bringing the festival to life is our highest priority.
"We are working on reimagining some of the exciting programs we had planned. We hope to present programming later this year that not only moves our mission forward but will also galvanize our community at a time when the need to come together will not only be welcome, but essential.
"We can't thank each of you enough for your understanding and ongoing support throughout this crisis. Please consider supporting PFS with a donation.
"Together we will navigate these unprecedented times and emerge stronger."
