Despite Pandemic, 'Big Brother' All-Stars Might Be in the Works for this Summer
"Big Brother" is making good on its motto "expect the unexpected."
Us Weekly is reporting that a new season of the long-running CBS reality show might be in the works. And not just any season: The network is reportedly contacting former "Big Brother" players in hopes of an all-stars edition this summer.
An all-stars season, which could reunite iconic houseguests and former winners, would also be a celebration of the 20th anniversary of "Big Brother," which has been hosted by Julie Chen Moonves since its July 2000 debut.
Sources told Us Weekly some houseguests who were contacted about the potential season declined for various reasons, including COVID-19. Due to the ongoing pandemic, "Big Brother" Season 22 will likely air a bit later than its usual June date, insiders told the magazine. They also said players who do sign up for the new season will have to be sequestered longer than usual and will also have to quarantine for two weeks before entering the game to ensure they don't have COVID.
Though "Big Brother" has had returnees on the show before, it's been 14 years since a proper all-star season. That happened with "Big Brother" Season 7 back in 2006.
