PopUps: Is Madonna Going to Collab with Dua Lipa?
A few months after releasing her anticipated sophomore album "Future Nostalgia," pop star Dua Lipa might have something big coming down the pipeline: A collaboration with Madonna.
Dua's manager Ben Mawson spoke with the magazine Music Week this week to talk about her disco-inspired album, which draws on Madonna's "Confessions on a Dancefloor." They also have a link — producer Stuart Price worked on both of the singers' albums. When asked if Dua could be the next Queen of Pop, Mawson revealed some interesting news for fans of the musicians.
"Well it depends what you mean. She's definitely going to have a long career," he told Music Week (via Official Charts). "She's definitely the complete pop star and obviously the album was heavily influenced by Madonna. In fact, we're about to try and get Madonna on a record. I'm going to write the email to see if she's up for a track.
"Dua told me she aspired to be Madonna when I met her when she was 17, and there was something about the way she said it that made me believe her!" he added. "It was about her personality, her charisma, her competitiveness and her drive and that came across. Dua's got it all, so she's unlimited potential."
