Martha Stewart: From Gardens and Galas to Social Media Influencer
There was a time when Martha Stewart's fashion statement was an ankle monitor. But 15 years since the culture icon was convicted of an illegal stock trade, Stewart has amassed 3.6 million followers on Instagram and 3.5 million followers on Twitter. While some may have thought her earlier career was more vanilla than devil's food cake, Stewart is the master of reinvention, seamlessly able to navigate food, fashion and home trends, all with a mischievous grin.
Stewart is the subject of a new profile feature in Harper's Bazaar, which recounts her rise to fame that would put even the most perfected loaf of bread to shame.
"Martha's not static," Kevin Sharkey, executive vice president of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, told Harper's Bazaar. "She taught me that legacy isn't really a past-tense experience; it's what she's going to build tomorrow or in an hour or next week."
Stewart went from modeling to Wall Street, and when her daughter Alexis was five, moved to Connecticut to start a catering business and eventually monetize homemaking with the publication of her first book, "Entertaining."
Along the way, Stewart has maintained an effortless style that seamlessly flows from the garden to a gala. Her latest partnership with Snoop Dogg includes the TV show "Martha and Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party" and a new collection of CBD products, including popular gummies and a soon-to-be-released skincare line.
Here's a look at some of our favorite Martha Stewart moments, as well as those who find inspiration from M. Diddy.
