Rapper Lil Mama Starting 'Heterosexual Rights Movement' After Transphobic Comments
Following backlash due to transphobic comments she made on Instagram, rapper Lil Mama has pledged to start a "heterosexual rights movement" in order to combat supposed "anti-LGBTQ" bullying.
According to TheGrio, her comments came after Mama commented on an interview between Zaya Wade, former basketball superstar Dwyane Wade's transgender daughter, and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
"So children are too young to smoke cigarettes, too young to drink alcohol, too young to get a drivers license, too young to go to a club, too young to gamble, too young to rent a car, but old enough to cut off their genitals and/or 'change' their gender," Mama said on Instagram. "This is insanity #America."
Immediately after these comments, Mama also sent another tweet that referred to transgender identity as "depopulation at any cost."
After this, Mama put out an Instagram story with further bizarre words for anyone that was criticizing her.
"Y'all fight so hard to be respected and SOME of you, NOT ALL get a kick out bullying people for having an opinion," Mama wrote in an Instagram story screen captured by Female Rap Room. "There are so many people afraid to give their honest opinion (sic) because if they do the LGBTQ+ will hear what they want to hear and take statements out of context."
She quickly added that she was "about to start a heterosexual rights movement. Anti-LGBTQ Bullying."
