Watch: Chris Evans' 'Laser Focus' — Finding a Partner
"Captain America" actor Chris Evans made hearts flutter when he answered a question about what he's "laser focused" on in his life. The busy thesp's response: Finding a partner.
Evans was being interviewed on Shondaland in support of his new thriller "The Gray Man," currently streaming on Netflix. According to Variety, "Evans was asked if there's anything in his life he's currently as laser-focused on as his character in the film is on chasing down bad guys."
After mulling the question for a moment, Evans responded, "The answer would be that maybe [I'm] laser-focused on finding a partner — you know, someone that you want to live with."
Evans quickly clarified, "I love what I do. It's great; I pour all of myself into it." But when it comes to pouring himself into someone with the same intensity, the actor added that "this industry is full of pockets of doubt, hesitation, and recalibration in terms of really trying to find someone that you really can pour all of yourself into."
"Maybe it's about trying to find someone that you're looking to spend your life with," he added.
Variety recalled that Evans has openly yearned for a family life, telling Men's Journal in a 2019 interview, "I like pretty pedestrian, domestic things."
But before you get your hopes up, fellas, it seems that Evans — who has been linked with or rumored to be dating several woman over the years, including Jessica Biel and Christina Ricci — was speaking in a strictly heteronormative way.
"I want a wife," he told Men's Journal.
His white picket fence dreams followed familiar contours: "I want kids," the Massachusetts native went on to say. "I like ceremony. I want to carve pumpkins and decorate Christmas trees and shit like that."
Daily Pop posted a clip of the interview and discussed Evans' disclosure, speculating that he might have better luck if he were to expand his dating pool beyond the Hollywood ecosystem and noting that at age 41 it's only natural that he would be thinking about settling down with someone.
Here's hoping he finds everything he's looking for.
