Cardi B and the iconic Material Girl have patched things up after Madonna issued a broadside diss in a social media post about her book "S.E.X.," according to Variety.

In an Oct. 22 Instagram story post, Madonna harkened back to her 1992 book, posting, "30 years ago I published a book called 'S.E.X.' In addition to photos of me naked there were photos of Men kissing Men, Woman kissing Woman and Me kissing everyone."

Upon its initial release, the book drew heat for the "Like a Virgin" singer, Variety added.

Madonna drew a contrast between now and then, posting: "Now Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked ass and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball."

The post signed off with, "You're welcome bitches." A clown emoji accompanied the words.

Cardi B took the "Like a Prayer" singer's words hard — and took to social media in her turn. Variety detailed that Cardi B responded in a series of posts that have since been deleted.

"I literally [paid] this woman homage so many times cause I grew up listening to her... she can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth," Variety quoted the rapper, who was recently cleared of liability in a suit claiming copyright infringement due to artwork on a mixtape.

"These icons really become disappointments once u make it in the industry," the rapper added; "that's why I keep to myself."

Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked seems to have played intermediator. Variety recounted that Lee "tweeted that he was 'on the phone with Madonna and Cardi' and that he was 'listening to both women share their perspective on the communication going on has broadened their love for each other.'"

"Following Lee's update, the two musicians updated fans on Twitter that they had worked things out," Variety went on to add.

"I talked to Madonna ...It was beautiful 🥲," Cardi B posted on Twitter.

Madonna followed up with, "I love you @iamcardib !! ♥️ Always have and always will."
