Watch: Heartstopper Season 2 Teases Cuffing Season
It's cuffing season for the Truham students of Netflix's "Heartstopper," and a new season 2 trailer of the show previews lots of relationship drama ahead.
With the show expected to be released Aug. 3, the trailer sees Nick (Kit Connor) struggle to come out to the people in his life, Elle and Tao start to crush on each other, and Darcy and Tara say those special three words to each other.
There's an homage of Nick and Charlie (Joe Locke) laughing and having fun before cutting to Charlie shouting "I have a boyfriend!"
"Yes we're all fully aware," Tao responds.
But later we see that Nick is having trouble sharing the details of this new relationship with his family and friends.
"I want to tell people," Nick tells Charlie. "It's hard to find the right time."
Charlie assured, "I want you to come out, when and how you want to."
Meanwhile, Elle is urged to flirt and pursue things with Tao. But Tao worries, "If this doesn't work out then I lose my best friend in the world," he confesses to his friends.
And finally, as Darcy and Tara do prepare to take their relationship to the next step, there is some tension over who is ready and who isn't.
"I love you. That's not me asking you to say it back or anything," said Tara.
"Yeah," Darcy casually replies.
Season 2 of the show is meant to be "more mature" teased Darcy actor Kizzy Edgell.
"It's more mature but not in a bad way. [Creator Alice Oseman] has made strong characters, I feel they can overcome anything," he said.
Time will tell if they do. Watch the trailer below.
