The Scissor Sisters have reunited and are getting set to tour once more. Frontman Jake Shears says the band was inspired to get back together by looking back at a classic concert film from 2007, Pitchfork reported.

"It's the 20th anniversary of our debut album" — 2004's eponymous "Scissor Sisters" — "so it really feels like the right time to revisit all the intense excitement of that moment," Shears mused.

"I think the impetus for this reunion was really a YouTube screening of 'Scissor Sisters: Live at The O2' that happened during lockdown," the singer, who has pursued a solo career since the band's last album, 2012's "Magic Hour," said.

"I don't think I'd seen that show since it was filmed in 2007, but we were all kind of surprised by how great it was," Shears added. "And chatting with fans during the screening really brought back what a special moment it was for all of us."

The band will be touring British destinations for two weeks in May of next year, kicking off with a concert at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham and making their way from there to Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, London, Birmingham, Belfast, and Dublin, among other cities. Alison Goldfrapp is slated to open for all 10 shows.
