Jonzu

Jonzu is a native New Yorker whose goal was a career in fashion. While in college he began working as a model and a stylist and soon found he preferred being in front of the camera. Like many creatives, the artist continues to work multiple jobs; his are primarily stylist, model and performer in the adult film industry. During the pandemic he launched an OnlyFans page that found itself in a bit of trouble for an otherworldly reason. He decided to take his content to JustFor.Fans where he has been well-received, even finding a significant increase in his film work.

At this point he is focusing on merging all of his work together. "I've gotten into this thing where I'm integrating porn into things that are not formulated and vice versa. It feels like the integration of art and fashion and film into the porn I do."

Recently EDGE had the chance to chat with Jonzu about his work and his future plans.

EDGE: Jonzu is a different name. Is it safe to assume that's not the name you were given at birth?

Jonzu: I have been doing porn for four years now under the name Jordan Jameson. About seven months ago I decided to scrap it. I wanted to be just one entity for everything I do forever. I feel like having one name is kind of iconic, like Cher. I decided to drop my name and go balls to the wall and completely be myself. I'm obviously never gonna get a normal job because any employer will literally see my dick and ass on the internet within two seconds, so I changed my name.

EDGE: How did you get started creating adult content?

Jonzu: Like most of us, it was during the pandemic. I was a stylist, and as soon as it hit, I was completely out of work. And I was like, "Fuck, what am I gonna do?" I was also bored as fuck like everyone else. I think I spent the first week-and-a-half binging "Game of Thrones." And then after that I didn't know what else to do with my time so I hit up some photographer and asked if they wanted to shoot for fun. I was also working out a shit ton so I was shooting with some friends just for fun, showing off my new bod, shooting some nude pictures. And then I decided to make an OnlyFans and upload the pictures there and on Twitter (X). It quickly kind of spiraled into filming sex on camera. Soon after I got my manager and started doing studio porn. It all happened really, really quickly.

EDGE: Does your content have a specific genre?

Jonzu: It's a smorgasbord of every fucking thing. There's no consistent thread at all. I try to incorporate more art and fashion into it. I do really artsy videos where I'm collaborating with other videographers or other artists, but then there are also a lot of videos where it's literally just me and some guy having sex. That obviously does well and people like seeing that more than anything. But I kind of get to do whatever the fuck I want so if I can do something really cool and artsy, I'm gonna do it if anybody wants to actually look at it or not.

EDGE: How much content do you create?

Jonzu: It depends. I have periods where I'm creating literally every single day, especially in the spring and summer. That's my busiest time; I'm just working non-stop because I enjoy working so much. But in the winter it's really, really slow. It's the holidays and whatever. But I try making a new video at least once or twice a week consistently.

EDGE: Do you primarily post on OnlyFans?

Jonzu: I started off with OnlyFans then I made a JustForFans later on. OnlyFans took me down last year so I figured I'd just stay on JustFor Fans, not even going to try to get back on OnlyFans. JustForFans seems like it's more creative, more lax and definitely more thriving.

EDGE: Why did OnlyFans take you down?

Jonzu: My content was just too kinky. I was getting so many flags and warnings for different things like poppers or gaping holes. There's a million-and-one things on OnlyFans that'll get you flagged. But, for me, I think the nail in the coffin was during this performance I was doing where the theme was extraterrestrial. I was dressed like an alien; my skin was painted gray and I was fisting this porn performer, Brian Bonds. While fisting him, which was already an issue for OnlyFans, I was pulling an alien baby out of him. It was the alien baby that was the problem. They deemed it child pornography. Hilarious.

EDGE: I'm guessing it wasn't a real baby.

Jonzu: No, it was a toy. An alien baby at that. I thought, "What metric is this?" I tried to argue in one email, then I left it alone. I was done because I knew if it's not this it was going to be another fucking thing. So, yeah, JustForFans is much more forgiving.

EDGE: Do you post your content anywhere else?

Jonzu: I do Raw Fuck Club for some videos and I post on X, but mainly it's JustForFans.

EDGE: Have you ever been trolled by people? And if so, how do you deal with it?

Jonzu: Totally, all the time. I've gotten better at not looking at mean comments, I guess it comes with the territory. If everyone loved me, that would suck. That'd be so boring. I guess it's good that I'm polarizing. I was looking for something about another performer friend on Google and I stumbled on this blog where clients review escorts. Usually it's the other way around, escorts talking about their clients and how shitty they can be, or how great or whatever. I went down this rabbit hole, a deep dive for half an hour, and ended up searching my own name. I found an entire deep dive about me. It was kind of hilarious. People were making all these assumptions and making up all these things. One guy said I was lying about my age because I listed myself as 28, I'm 30 by the way. He said, "He looks like he hasn't seen 28 in 10 years. He looks much older than his photos." That was a good one. It's usually hair choices, fashion choices, tattoos, things like that.

EDGE: What's the strangest request you've ever had?

Jonzu: I had one the other day. This guy who actually subscribed to my JustForFans saw a video of me felching this dude and was so turned on by it that he wanted to FaceTime with me and pretend he was squatted over my face pushing cum into my mouth for 15 minutes. I told him that would require me getting another person involved, so you're gonna have to pay two people. He said, "Just pretend because I don't want to pay two people for this little fantasy." He wanted me to use my spit and pretend it was cum and stick it out repeatedly. I'm not showing my dick or anything. I was literally sticking my tongue out for 10 minutes while drooling. He paid well, so I'm not even mad at it. Easiest $200 I've ever made.

EDGE: How do you choose the people you film with?

Jonzu: A lot of creators just want to get the numbers up and just want to film with people that are popular. I've seen so many videos where they're clearly not into each other, but they're both popular and that's the only reason they're having sex. But for me, I'm not going to put my dick in you, or vice versa, if I'm not attracted to you, or I don't have a good vibe or feeling about your character. By and large every person I film with there's a pretty good connection. We're really good at vetting each other.

EDGE: Let's talk about your other careers. Do they ever collide?

Jonzu: I put my JustForFans and porn in the same kind of box, my sex work box: porn, JustForFans and escorting. The other thing I do, my daytime job, is fashion, modeling and film. They're colliding more now than ever. I'm kind of merging it a shit ton and I think it's cool. I ideally want to be one of the many pioneers that is bridging the gap and making it less stigmatized. Because the internet's getting really fucking censored more than ever. On Instagram you can't even say the word sex. You have to literally abbreviate. You can't say dick. You can't say a lot of things. Obviously, you can't show most of it, which is fine, but just the fact that we're so censored is really strange.

EDGE: What are you doing about it?

Jonzu: I've been traveling to Europe quite a bit. I'm moving to Berlin in the spring, I'll do stints in Europe for two to four months, filming and shooting and all types of really fun projects. Then back here to New York, to chill out for a little bit. I'll do a shoot here and there. I won't overdo it when I'm home.

EDGE: Does your family know about your alternative career?

Jonzu: I did this interview with Queer Majority about three years ago and I was talking about having a double life, being a model and doing porn. They put it on Instagram and I was tagged in it. Up until then, I was fairly good at keeping it separate. I had a second Instagram that was more spicy and my main one was primarily fashion and art. My mom looks at everything I do on my main Instagram. Sometimes she'll say, "Oh that's a little slutty." But she didn't know I was doing porn until she saw the interview. Then she said, "What the fuck? Why didn't you tell me?" She wasn't mad, she said, "I really just wish you were honest and told me. It's fine if you're able to support yourself, if you're being safe. I'm not gonna be mad at you. I just hope you're not giving up the other things and just doing porn."

EDGE: Will you continue with styling and fashion?

Jonzu: That was what I thought I was going to do with my life. I did fashion in high school, went to college for it and it didn't work out that way, so I jumped into styling. I was doing that for a long time. I still do it here and there, but I feel more fulfilled, being in front of the camera using myself instead of just my hands and clothes. Being a porn actor and even being a model isn't sustainable for the long run. So right now, the plan is to get into directing. I've been kind of taking the back seat, doing projects where I'm kind of behind the scenes, giving a lot of input for creative direction.
