Ryan Murphy tossed fans a few new crumbs about "American Horror Story" Season 13 and rumors that Sarah Paulson will return to the show; Murphy teased in a June 13 social media post that "something cool" is in the works.

The prolific out producer dropped the bombshell that he and Paulson are working together on whatever it is they have in mind "after a fan asked if the 13th installment is still expected in 2025," Deadline noted.

TVLine relayed that "In the comments section of a first look at Ryan Murphy Productions' 'American Love Story,' shared to Instagram on Friday, a fan asked the producer, 'Ryan, are we getting AHS13 this year? Or not in 2025?'"

Murphy's response to the fan: "Sarah Paulson and I are cooking up something cool!"

Paulson's return has been speculated on since last October, when, in response to a question about the timing for Season 13 of the show, Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter, "I was talking to Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters about that the other day, so maybe sooner than you think."

Paulson herself seemed to verify her interest in rejoining the long-running anthology series. As reported at the time, she said on "Good Morning America" last October that there was a "big chance" she'd be back among the "AHS" fold.

"I would like to do it more than anything," Paulson declared. "It's my home. It's where I started."

Being part of what was essentially an ensemble cast for the show across several seasons provided the frequent Ryan Murphy collaborator "a lot of career flexibility," Paulson noted.

"I got to play, you know, seven different characters in seven years, which as an actor is the most exciting, thrilling thing," Paulson enthused, "and also allows an audience to be ready for anything you're going to do because they're not attached to one thing that you do, specifically."

"After first playing celebrity medium Billie Dean Howard in the 2011 debut season, dubbed 'Murder House,' Paulson has returned almost every season to play another role," Deadline detailed, "including Lana Winters in 'AHS: Asylum,' Cordelia Goode in 'AHS: Coven' and 'Apocalypse,' and conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler in 'AHS: Freak Show,' just to name a few."

Paulson also appeared on both halves of "AHS: Double Feature" in 2021, the writeup noted.
