Maine Hospitality Helps Habitat for Humanity

Between April 23 and May 25, 2012 (except Memorial Day) make a reservation at a participating Maine inn
The program is designed to raise funds for local chapters of Habitat for Humanity while encouraging travel in Maine in the Spring season. A simple idea, it has become very popular and has raised $85,000 for Maine Habitat programs.
These funds will be distributed among the ten local chapters of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity International is a Christian ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliates in more than 3,000 communities in 92 nations have built more than 300,000 homes for partner families around the world. www.habitat.org
In 1981, Marian Burns converted a deteriorating mid Victorian summer "cottage" (Mira Monte) into the second Bed and Breakfast Inn in Bar Harbor, Maine - now Mira Monte Inn and Suites. The two-story inn is set in the heart of Bar Harbor, just minutes from Acadia National Park and within walking distance of the Atlantic Ocean.
