Don't Miss: Montreal's Festival Mode & Design
Montreal's Festival Mode & Design (FMD) will take over the Quartier des spectacles for six days and six nights of non-stop creativity. From August 15 to 20, Groupe Sensation Mode, producers of FMD, will offer a unique experience to the some 500,000 visitors who will attend, inviting each and every one of them to grow within a huge creative laboratory.
Visitors will have the chance to dive into the worlds of fashion and design through fashion and multidisciplinary shows, conferences, live creative workshops, musical performances, exhibitions, design installations and other shopping discoveries in a friendly outdoor atmosphere.
FMD will showcase 80 Montreal designers, 21 fashion shows from emerging designers, 16 shows with well-known brands, 15 international speakers, 30 pop-up shops and 75 models.
The program will transform Place des Festivals into a truly immersive experience, where guests can get inspired by the FMD world that's been created around them.
Festival Highlights
Outdoor Program
Entirely free, the FMD outdoor program offers a variety of activities, including discover fall trends presented by their favorite brands such as Guess/Marciano, Le Ch�teau de Montr�al, Dynamite, La Vie en Rose, RW&Co., Antoine Laoun, Complexe Desjardins, Bestseller Men/Women, Alton Gray, Rockland and Ard�ne.
Each evening will highlight amazing musical acts, shown live from the runway. Dear Denizen, Debbie Tebbs, Archichic, Fonkyson, Paupi�re, Melt Montreal, Radiant Baby, Cafe Lanai and Emi Jeen will all add to FMD's unique atmosphere.
M.A.D. Stage
Located at Place des Festivals by Sainte-Catherine Street, the M.A.D. Stage will be the setting for emerging talents, street styling and the unexpected. About 20 shows, live performances and creative workshops will be on the program. Highlights include emerging designer showcases, styling fashion shows, and DIY events such as the Cirque du Soleil costume workshop.
Shopping and Design
FMD's 30 pop-up boutiques and fashion trucks will open their doors, giving guests the chance to discover and buy local designer fashion and designs.
Visitors will find themselves in a distinct design environment and will be invited to take a break in the "parklet," created by UQAM environmental design students during the "parklet" contest presented by Place Ville Marie. They can also explore the venue by visiting various exhibitions and installations set up for the occasion, including Expo Montreal-Barcelona, presented by LaSalle College. An Airstream, courtesy of Roulottes Ste-Anne, will welcome bloggers to a totally unique glamping experience.
