The brides celebrated with a rainbow wedding cake and Great Heights brand rings, reported UK newspaper the Daily Mail, and one was radiant in a Pronovias wedding gown while the other was dressed in a Thom Browne tuxedo.

But the real kicker was this: Both Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger used to play on the United States National Soccer team. Indeed, that's where they met.

The happy couple chose Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a Miami wedding venue, which Krieger told People Magazine had a "European type vibe," and Harris praised as "very classic and clean and modern and just really sharp," adding that, "in a magical way, that's kind of what our vision was from the very beginning.

"So right off the bat, we excluded anything rustic, anything barn door, anything that had that kind of aesthetic," Harris added.

Media reports took note of the fact that the couple chose Great Heights rings because, unlike some wedding vendors who decline to share in the happiness of committed same-sex couples, the company is open about supporting gay and lesbian families who wish to participate in the legal rights and social privileges of marriage.

People Magazine also recalled that as teammates, the duo:

...helped the U.S. women's national soccer team win the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup Final, giving America its fourth championship in the tournament.

The couple came out publicly in March of this year - to People Magazine, the publication reminded readers.
