Twisted Launches 'Corner Shop Challenge'

Monday April 6, 2020

The UK food and drink brand Twisted has launched a new cooking show, "Corner Shop Challenge," in response to the coronavirus crisis and the effects it is having on people's mealtimes.

The series is designed specifically for this period of time when we're being encouraged to stay home, and when ingredients are limited and we need some inspiration for simple, cheap yet delicious recipes with ingredients that can be found at the local corner shop.

The first episode, which aired last week and premiered on SnapChat over the weekend features Twisted Chef Sophie, who brings us a flavorful recipe for Pea Tikka Masala, the ingredients for which cost less than £5 ($6.15) and serves two people.

The Twisted ethos "unserious food tastes seriously good" permeates through all of Twisted's recipes and their attitude to cooking and eating, which they firmly believe should be a fun and experimental endeavor. With the increase in time at home, Twisted hopes to inspire their 30 million+ followers to throw the 'rulebook' out the window and come up with their own recipes and twists on classics, making good use of the ingredients that they have at their disposal.

Twisted will be launching more new series in the coming weeks that are all designed around helping their audience and everyone beyond it to get creative with cooking during lockdown life and beyond. Next up is "What's in your fridge?" where Twisted's followers send in pictures of what they have in their fridge and Twisted designs a recipe for them using those items.

The next episode of "Corner Shop Challenge" will air across Twisted's social channels on Wednesday, April 8.
