As we endure the pandemic, many local businesses have not been able to re-open. Yet some are innovating with unusual ways to find support. For the popular South of Market bear bar, it's a new Lone Star Saloon 500 Club, which includes a handmade gift and other perks.

"We're selling leather key straps that we make ourselves," said co-owner Charlie Evans. "Each key strap is individually numbered (limit of 500) and branded. When we we re-open we are going to offer the members special offers. I started this about three weeks ago and it's going really well."

"Six months without revenue is taking it's toll," wrote the owners on the bar's website. "When all this shit is over, and we reopen, members of the 500 Club will receive free entry to Cubcake for a year, two free annual beer busts and a bunch of stuff."

Support the Lone Star by getting a membership.
