As part of its #savethenight initiative, Jegermeister has joined forces with the Lesbian Bar Project for a fundraising effort to save lesbian bars in the US, Marketing Dive reports.

According to Jegermeister, there are currently 15 lesbian bars in the US, which has severely decreased from over 200 in the 1980s. Because these venues have traditionally been safe spaces, and because the COVID-19 has been particularly ruthless with nightlife, this is a concerted push to keep the remaining lesbian bars afloat through the pandemic.

In addition to the fundraising effort, both organizations are partnering for a documentary series on the history of lesbian bars. And they have created a brief PSA, with narration by actress Lea DeLaria ("Orange is the New Black"), honoring "noteworthy bars that have closed over the years."
