Miami Beach Calls to Hispanic LGBTs in October

MIAMI BEACH - It's no coincidence that the producers of Art Basel chose Miami Beach as their U.S. home. Now, the world's largest Art Fair is just one of several annual events that call Miami Beach home.

"An eclectic mix of events have gravitated or grown organically in Miami Beach thanks to the city's unique culture, climate, population and style" says Grisette Marcos, Executive Director of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority.

Miami Beach's lineup of events are unique, 'Only in Miami Beach' and offer something hot and happening for everyone.

Hispanic LGBT

The world-wide Hispanic LGBT community will gather in Miami Beach on October 6th for the Celebrate ORGULLO Festival . The event is the first of its kind in the U.S. and showcases the community during the month of October, Hispanic Heritage Month. Miami Beach is world renowned for their gay-friendly atmosphere that city organizations such as the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority help cultivate through services like the Pink Flamingo Program and the LGBT Welcome Center on Miami Beach.

Sit Back, Relax and Enjoy the WALLCAST�

Film aficionados will get a dose of culture at the 16th Brazilian Film Festival, opening with a WALLCAST� on the pristine greens of the New World Symphony (NWS) designed by the legendary Frank Gehry. An NWS WALLCAST� allows guests to experience select films through a striking use of visual and audio technology on a soaring, 7,000-square-foot projection wall. The WALLCAST will feature the Brazilian hit "The Clown" about a father and son who work as clowns for a circus in the Brazilian countryside. We're With The DJ

Party goers and producers will get their fists pumping at the Opium Music Concert Series on the beach which kicks off on September 1st. For two days, the summer series will play host to several shows at 8th Street. The event is a nod to Miami Beach's love affair with DJ's and will feature a variety of world class DJs who will get the party started for tourists and locals alike.

Fit Fun

On September 23, fitness gurus and sports enthusiasts will gather for the Escape to Miami Triathlon.

The race, put on by US Road Sports & Entertainment of Florida will be an Olympic distance USAT certified triathlon. The bike and run portions will be held through downtown Miami and the always scenic Miami Beach (1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run). More details are available at www.runmiami.com
