Celebrating National Coming Out Day in Philadelphia

Looking for a day trip to celebrate National Coming Out Day? Look no further than the City of Brotherly Love for a packed itinerary and one of the LGBT's community's biggest block parties, Sunday, Oct. 13 from noon - 6 p.m.

Philly Pride claims that the six-hour community event held at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing is the largest NCOD event in the world. More than 157 groups will be participating, including such major sponsors as Barefoot Wines, Harrah's Philadelphia, More Than Just Ice Cream, Smirnoff Vodka and the city's mainstay bar Woody's (among many others.)

Activities scattered throughout the day include:

  • Youth Dance at 12th Street and Spruce

  • OutFeest Women's Outdoor Party, 1300 Chancellor Street

  • Dance Party in front of Tabu, 12th Street

  • The ever popular pet show and high heel race.

  • Fourth Annual Youth Applause Wave, 4 p.m.
