Debra Messing Apologizes For, Clarifies Trump Prison Rape Tweet
On Monday, Debra Messing apologized for, and clarified, Tweets suggesting she hoped Donald Trump would be raped in prison, Yahoo reports.
In a now-deleted Tweet from December 10, the "Will & Grace" star said, "AMERICA. THIS is a LEADER. @realDonaldTrump you are a weak, scared, stupid, inept, negligent, vindictive, narcissistic, criminal. On Monday, in another now-deleted Tweet, Messing attempted to clarify, "Let me be clear: I said nothing about LGBTQI/queer LOVE. Rape is an act of violence. Trump has perpetrated violence on hundreds of millions of people. My hope is (and this is the first time in my life) that the tables are turned and he is the victim of perpetrators. #LGBTQIAally"

Later on Monday, Messing issued another apology on Twitter in response to The Daily Wire, which alleged the actress — long known to be an ally of the LGBTQ community — was homophobic:

Messing's second apology found much support and, in some cases, also criticized the insinuations of homophobia:
