A memorial held in honor of Andrew Prior will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. at The Savant Project (1625 Tremont St.) in Boston.

Prior, a 23-year-old native of Syracuse, N.Y., was the victim of a hit-and-run late Sunday night, Nov. 14. Boston police believe he was riding his scooter around 11:45 p.m. in Mission Hill when he was struck by an SUV. Prior was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The openly gay Northeastern University graduate was a regular volunteer at Fenway Health, including the annual Men's Event and Women's Dinner Party, and a volunteer crew member for Harbor to the Bay.

Northeastern released a statement mourning the loss Tuesday: "It is a terrible tragedy and our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends."

Boston police are seeking any information about the car or driver involved in the crash. They believe the car to be a gray or silver Hyundai Santa Fe of the type made from 2001 to 2006. The Boston police toll-free tip line is 1 (800) 494-TIPS. Information can also be sent in an anonymous text message by texting the word "TIP" to CRIME (27463).
