The AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts (AAC) announced April 19 that the organization is welcoming Mary Hull as its next Vice President of Development. Current VP Mark Walsh is joining Hilary Clinton as a top deputy at the State Department.

"Although we are sad to see Mark leave, we are excited for him and his new opportunity," read a statement released by AAC. "From his early days as an AIDS Walk volunteer to his time as a member of our board, and most recently in his role in development, Mark has been a very loyal supporter and advocate for AIDS Action over the years. We wish him all the success he deserves. As VP of development, he was instrumental in revitalizing fundraising efforts, by shoring up new sources of funding for gay men's programming at AIDS Action and laying the groundwork for the successful return of our ArtCetera art auction this coming Fall."

Hull comes to the organization with extensive experience in donor relations for health care-related industries and a rich background in special events fundraising. She was most recently the Senior Director of Events and Donor Relations for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

"Mary is a talented professional with an extensive background in special event planning and fundraising," said Rebecca Haag, president and CEO of AIDS Action. "She is passionate about ensuring access to care and treatment for those who are most vulnerable and knows that we can't do our work without a strong base of financial support. She is also a compassionate, caring person who will work well with our clients, staff, donors and corporate supporters."

Hull, who starts at AIDS Action May 2, will immediately begin work on AIDS Action's largest fundraiser of the year, AIDS Walk Boston which is Sunday, June 5 and their biennial art auction, ARTcetera which is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1 at The Castle.
