In the Bible's New Testament, John Chapter 8: Verse 7, Jesus says "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone" to an angry mob about to stone a woman to death for committing the sin of adultery. The quote has universally been interpreted by Biblical scholars as a reminder to avoid judging others when there are faults in your own life that need to be addressed.

Now, over 2,000 years later, a pair of purported "Christian" pastors appear to be looking for a repeal or variance on that edict with the suggestion that a well attended parade might include a float featuring the stoning of a homosexual.

The comment was made by Pastors Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner during a recent broadcast on fundamentalist Christian Generations Radio as part of a discussion about the award-winning float in this year's Rose Parade that featured the marriage of a same-sex couple sponsored by the Los Angeles based AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

The transcript as published on Right Wing Watch reads:

Swanson: They'll also witness a controversial same-sex wedding, courtesy of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. According to the Pasadena Star News, a pair of homosexual hairstylists will 'marry' along the parade route while riding a wedding cake-shaped float sponsored by the AIDS group.

Buehner: This is an AIDS group? This is a group that's against AIDS? They're not trying to spread AIDS right? I mean, if you are trying to spread AIDS you would have pro-homosexual propaganda but if you're trying to stop it....

Swanson: They may be serving lemonade too as part of the event, I hope not but maybe.

Buehner: I wonder what the Rose Bowl parade would do if we had the stoning of a homosexual along the parade just as an expression of free speech and all that.

Buehner: I wonder what the Rose Bowl parade would do if we had the stoning of a homosexual along the parade just as an expression of free speech and all that.

Swanson: I think that would be rejected by the Rose Bowl parade committee.

Buehner: Well, what if the stones were just made like of flowers and flower pedals?

Swanson: I don't know if they'd allow that or not. Anyway ladies and gentlemen, this is another instance in which the degradation of our society is going mainstream.

These recent comments come as no surprise to those familiar with the pair of anti-gay commentators and their history of making erroneous and inflammatory statements.

In October 2013, Buehner and Swanson urged their listeners not to buy Girl Scout Cookies on the grounds that the 101-year-old service organization promotes lesbianism and abortion.

"The individualism of feminism has been devastating to this country. I'd say you ought to say no to the Girl Scout cookies too," said Swanson in a broadcast on his Internet radio station. "I don't want to support lesbianism, I don't want to support Planned Parenthood and I don't want to support abortion, and if that be the case I'm not buying Girl Scout cookies."

The New Civil Rights Movement reported last January that Swanson warned that if Colorado allowed civil unions for same-sex couples, gays would end up burning Christians at the stake, and homeschooled children would be given over to pedophiles, like the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).

Generations Radio describe themselves on SermonAudio.com, the largest library of free MP3 audio sermons from conservative churches and ministries worldwide, as follows:

A daily radio broadcast, bringing truth and relationships to a lost and lonely world. We train our listeners to think biblically, to evaluate issues from the perspective of biblical ethics and a biblical social construct. We support Christian education, Christian homeschooling, fathers doing Deuteronomy 6:7, honor of fathers, the defense of human life, guns, love for God, and things like this.
