Gay Porn Model a Suspect in 2010 'Execution-Style' Killing
Police have arrested a gay porn model in a South Florida murder case over a decade old. The case against the subject is rife with allegations of jealously and group sex, according to Miami news station WPLG.
In 2010, police found the body of the victim, 31-year-old Alfred "Chad" McMurray, dead of a gunshot wound and with his hands bound behind him in what WPLG called an "execution-style killing..."
McMurray's truck was missing, along with his wallet and various electronics, but when authorities found the vehicle, it yielded no clues, having been "doused with bleach inside and out," according to a police report.
But investigators did not give up, and their persistence paid off, leading to the arrest of a "gay pornography model" named Aaron Michael Dobbins, 52.
"The arrest report states that while searching a national database in May, DNA under McMurray's fingernails matched up to Dobbins," WPLG reported.
The article untangled a web of relationships in which Dobbins was allegedly dating a man named John Navarro.
"Navarro reportedly met McMurray through the internet, where Navarro was known as 'Mr. Muscle Stud,' and performed paid massages," the news station relayed.
According to NSFW site Str8up Gay Porn, Navarro is also known as "former escort and gay porn star Adam Rogue." The site also reported that "Dobbins, Navarro, McMurray, and a fourth unidentified man had group sex a couple of months before the murder, and McMurray placed multiple telephone calls to Navarro on the night he was killed."
Sr8up Gay Porn added that, "at the time of his death, McMurray... was the boyfriend of Shannon Prewitt, the former owner of gay porn review message board JustUsBoys, who later when on to produce content at BrokeStraightBoys. Prewitt issued a statement in 2010 asking for help in finding McMurray's murderer, but he's not spoken publicly about the case in recent years."
Navarro reportedly "told detectives that he and Dobbins had been in a relationship for five years and that Dobbins was 'very jealous,'" while Dobbins reportedly "told Broward County detectives he met Navarro on a gay dating site called 'Big Muscle,' and fell in love with him because it was a 'special thing,' but problems in their relationship arose because Dobbins was 'just coming out of the closet,' while Navarro had been out for years," WPLG said.
"As gay porn star Trace Michaels, Aaron Dobbins performed in dozens of gay porn scenes at Florida-based studios like BaitBus, MenOver30, and RubHim," Str8up Gay Porn detailed, "as well as the now defunct C1R, where he used the name 'Trace Hunter' for a Chi Chi LaRue movie."
WPLG added that when interviewed by detectives, Dobbins "implied that his DNA was under McMurray's fingernails because McMurray had beaten him up and denied ever having gone to the victim's house. He also told detectives he never owned a gun because of past 'anger issues,'" the article said.
NBC Miami reported that Dobbins is now in custody in Broward County, "where he remains without bond on a charge of first degree premeditated murder."
