Leading Adult Site Reveals 2022 Top Search Trends, and 'Transgender' Jumps in Popularity
It's the most wonderful time of the year when Pornhub releases its 2022 Year in Review, telling the categories most searched by region, and we pretend to be surprised by the result.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the adult video-hosting website said that the "transgender" category grew by 75 percent internationally, and ranks as the seventh most popular category. The term ranked No. 1 in Brazil.
"In the US users in Republican states remain on the website longer than those visiting from Democratic states and the term 'trans' was also searched disproportionally more in historically Republican state West Virginia," the Daily Mail reports. But is anyone surprised?
The U.S. reportedly accounted for the majority of the traffic on the website, the UK was second, followed by France, Japan, Mexico, Italy and Germany.
In America, the states that stayed on the site the longest were: Alabama, Louisiana, South Carolina, Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi. The Daily Mail reports that all of those states voted Republican in the last four presidential elections.
States that spent the shortest time on Pornhub included Washington, Delaware, Oregon, and Minnesota, "all four of which voted Democrat in the last four presidential elections," the Daily Mail reports.
There is also in uptick in demand for the term "real homemade," showing an appetite for amateur videos over highly-produced videos.
Search terms entered into the site varied across the US, suggestive of state-by-state demographic and religious differences.
In the state of New York, the term "Dominican" ruled, while "Asian" proved to be the most popular in California.
