Drag foe and Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, who has embraced falsehoods about the LGBTQ+ community and criticized the venerable theatrical art, spent campaign cash at a bar that hosts drag events, Politico reported.

"The Colorado congresswoman's campaign put down $317.48 in late July at Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar in Aspen, Co., according to her most recent campaign finance filings," the news site detailed.

Politico went on to note, "That's the same bar co-owned by Quinn Gallagher, the man who accompanied Boebert to the theater that fateful September night" — namely, the night she and Gallagher were caught on video getting frisky with each other at a theater where they attended the musical "Beetlejuice."

"The US Representative, who became a grandma earlier this year aged 36, courted controversy for fondling Gallagher at a theater in Denver," UK publication the Daily Mail detailed at the time, adding that "Toe-curling footage showed Gallagher rubbing Boebert's breasts as she tugged at his crotch."

Boebert later said that she would "check party affiliations" of her dates before going out with them in the future.

But the couple's busy hands weren't the only thing going on that night; the Colorado rep was tossed out of the venue for vaping and disruptive conduct. Boebert initially denied vaping in the theater, though a video of her doing so circulated. The congresswoman later issued an apology.

The fact that Gallagher's bar hosted drag events was noted even at the time, with EDGE reporting, "Last winter the venue hosted 'a winter Wonderland Burlesque & Drag Show' according to social media posts."

The Daily Mail cited Boebert's own statements of opposition to drag. "Boebert has been an outspoken critic of drag, claiming it offends her Christian beliefs and tweeting statements such as 'Take your children to CHURCH, not drag bars,'" the Mail said.

"The campaign expenditure at Hooch was listed as being for 'event catering,'" Politico reported. Boebert's campaign went with the explanation that "Meeting with donors and covering their food and beverage costs at a popular local establishment of their choosing is a standard campaign procedure."
