While the world is still taking about Caitlyn Jenner's Vanity Fair cover, the Hollywood Reporter points to the publication's 22-page story about Jenner's gender transition.

Excerpts from the cover story have made their way online, including quotes from ex-wife Kris Jenner, who seems to be struggling with her former spouse's transition.

"He was married to me, and he wasn't who he wanted to be, so he was miserable," Kris said of the final years of their marriage (note: she used the male pronoun that Caitlyn was assigned at birth). "It was the most passive-aggressive thing I think I've ever experienced."

She also said: "Why would you want to be married and have kids, if this is what you wanted since you were a little boy? Why would you not explain this all to me?"

"All I was doing was working very hard for my family so that we could all have a wonderful future, and he was pissed off," Kris continued, and claimed Caitlyn ended their relationship without any warning.

Caitlyn, however, has shared a different side of the story with Vanity Fair, saying Kris knew that she cross dressed (when living as Bruce) and that she did it when they were living together. Caitlyn said they agreed she would cross dress when traveling alone and never in the Jenner home.

Kris did admit to knowing her ex took hormones in the past but assumed the B-cups Caitlyn had when they first met were a "man-boob situation."

"When I met Bruce, he told me that he had done hormones back in the early '80s," Kris told the publication. "This was a conversation that took place in the early '90s. So, what he was telling me happened a decade earlier, and he never really explained it."

"Nobody mentioned a gender issue," she added.

Caitlyn said the reason for the divorce was "20 percent was gender, and 80 percent was the way I was treated."

"A lot of times, [Kris] wasn't very nice," Caitlyn said, adding, "probably a mistake I made was maybe not having her understand -- not the severity of it, but that this is a condition you cannot get away from."

Kris has yet to comment about Caitlyn on social media.
