Caitlyn Jenner Says She Wants to be Kanye West's Running Mate

After some confusion, it looks like Kanye West is still making a play for the White House and Caitlyn Jenner wants to be part of the rapper's team.

Speaking with TMZ Thursday, Jenner was asked if she'd vote for West, who is married to Kim Kardashian — Jenner's stepdaughter (once removed). The reality star said she's already been in contact with West and discussed being his vice president pick.

"Oh, I texted him and said, 'Can I be your V.P.?" Jenner told TMZ. "What a combination!"

West has qualified to appear on Oklahoma's presidential ballot, the first state where he met the requirements before the filing deadline. Nevertheless, there's still confusion if he's actually running for president. The Associated Press writes:

A representative for West filed the necessary paperwork and paid the $35,000 filing Wednesday afternoon, which was the deadline for a spot on the state's Nov. 3 presidential ballot, said Oklahoma Board of Elections spokeswoman Misha Mohr. He was one of three independent presidential candidates to pay the filing fee prior to the deadline, she added. The others were concert pianist Jade Simmons and cryptocurrency entrepreneur Brock Pierce.

Earlier this week, a West adviser said that the "Bound 2" rapper is "out" of the race, adding that the staff he hired were disappointed.

"However, TMZ reported that the West campaign had filed a 'Statement of Organization' Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission, stating that a Kanye 2020 committee would serve as principal campaign committee for a West candidacy," the AP adds. "West has already missed the deadline to qualify for the ballot in several states, and it's unclear if he is willing or able to collect enough signatures required to qualify in others."

According to a new national poll that surveyed American voters, West earned 2% of the vote. Click here to read more about that.
