For one minute today, the U.S. Capitol looked more like the Beyhive.

Rep. Robert Garcia, from California's 42nd congressional district, is not afraid to show he is a Beyoncé stan.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Garcia transformed the floor of Congress into a Beehive when he took to the floor and paid tribute to the end of Black History Month while ushering in a celebration for Women's History Month.

According to Garcia, Beyoncé represents both to a T and is an "American hero" in her own right.

Using a giant placard showing an image of a crowned Beyoncé, from her "Homecoming" album, Garcia launched into a celebration of the Queen.

"She's an icon, she's a legend, and she is now and forever the moment," Garcia said. He commemorated Beyoncé's historic Grammys night, now the most awarded artist in history with 32 Grammys, and noted her advocacy for voting rights, women's rights, and support for girls.

"But Beyoncé is so much more than a performer and a singer. She's a creator and an artist. When the radio said to speed it up, she went slower," said Garcia, who is the first openly gay immigrant to serve in Congress.

EW asked Garcia what his favorite Beyoncé song was and he listed "Partition." He also shared why he chose to pay homage to the singer in that moment.

"People celebrate American excellence all the time in Congress," Garcia said. "There's American excellence by teachers, by the medical community, by elected officials, by folks that served our country honorably in the military. These are all American heroes. Beyoncé in her own way is also an American hero."

He added, "And for millions of people in our country, she is an icon, she's an inspiration, she's someone that actually impacts people's lives. And so I think it's important to celebrate different kinds of people, especially as we're celebrating the contributions of Black Americans and women in this country, she's an incredible example of an American icon and I was happy to honor her."
