Boston Pride Changes March, April Events

Boston Pride released the following statement regarding its upcoming event schedule:

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve, the health, safety, and wellbeing of the LGBTQ community is Boston Pride's highest priority. Boston Pride collaborates with many other major Pride organizers and is committed to following the guidelines and recommendations by the City of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. To slow down the spread of this virus, Massachusetts has put into effect a state of emergency that prohibits gatherings of more than 10 people. Consequently, Boston Pride events and meetings scheduled for March and April have either been canceled, postponed, or changed into virtual gatherings.

We maintain close contact with local and state authorities about the status of COVID-19 and its effects in Boston. We will provide the community with a substantial update about Boston Pride 2020 when that information is available to us. Be assured that our commitment to the community will not fade because of this virus. Boston Pride's 50th anniversary will be commemorating the heritage of Pride: celebrating social, legal, and political successes, and our culture and community—while continuing to work for social justice and human rights.

These are challenging times for many, and Boston Pride is particularly concerned with the status of our LGBTQ seniors, youth, and other vulnerable members of our community. We included some resources we hope you will find helpful. You are all in our thoughts and we know that together, we can stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ community and allies.
