Providence Pride Entertainment Spotlight

New England's second largest pride celebration features the largest GLBT Marketplace and Business Exposition in the region with a mix of national and local entertainment. The RI PrideFest also features the Kidz Pride Zone, an area specifically created for children, kids and families. The diverse offerings at the PrideFest draw a mix of individuals and families of all ages.

RI PrideFest's Main-stage Entertainment goes from12:00PM - 8:30PM on Saturday, June 16 at Station Park.

Kimberly Locke

From Gallatin, TN native to TV and music star via the hit series "American Idol," KIMBERLEY LOCKE quickly rose to fame when she became the second runner-up on season two of the Fox-TV competition. In addition to being featured on two cast albums, landing in third would find the Last-Girl-Standing taking part in the national Idol concert tour. Shortly after the tour ended, Locke released her Curb Records debut album "One Love," which features the #1 Billboard Single Sales hit "8th World Wonder," as well as "Wrong," "Over the Rainbow," and the top 10 AC smash, "I Could." Kimberley recently filmed the up-coming MTV series "MTV's Little Talent Show." Set to debut weekdays starting September 18, the strip is a cross between Star Search, The Gong Show and Punk'd.

Frenchie Davis

Frenchie Davis was born in Los Angeles, Calif. She began as a theatre student at Washington DC's Howard University. While studying there, she got her first acting/singing job playing one of the street urchins in a production of Little Shop of Horrors with a small theatre company in Germany. The same German company later rehired her for a production of Jesus Christ Superstar, the following year. After her return to the states, she auditioned for American Idol...and was flown to LA, made her mark on the show, and turned out to be a huge favorite with america to win the show. She was then cast in the Broadway show RENT, from which she took a leave of absence to portray the role of "Effie White" in the West coast tour of the play DreamGirls.

Colton Ford

TUG OF WAR, Ford's first single is being remixed by Quentin Harris, Pink Noise (Richard Morel) and Reed McGowan, and is scheduled for release at the end of June on Oustider Music. The full album will be out mid-Summer of this year. I was cast as Sheriff Trout in The Lair, an offshoot of the hit Here TV! series, Dante's Cove. The first episode of The Lair will air on Here TV! June 1st and plays on demand ALL DAY.

Sister Funk

Sister Funk, the nation's hottest, five-piece, all-female band brings a high energy, entertaining stage show to a growing national following. For the past 6 years, Sister Funk has been headlining concert arenas, clubs and music festivals performing tracks off of their 3 independent, original CD releases, Pursuit of the Groove ? 2001, Girl ? 2003 & Gossip ? 2006. Sister Funk's music is best described as Power Pop. Their earlier CDs have been compared to artists like: Scissor Sisters and Pussy Cat Dolls and their latest release which is more modern Rock to artists like Maroon Five, American Rejects and Avril Lavigne. According to Conch Key West, "Sister Funk gave the most animated rock performance in memory; these ladies impressed even seasoned rockaholics at the 2006 Key West Womyn's Music Festival".

All The Kings Men

ATKM is an all female performance troupe dedicated to pushing the boundaries and exploring the stereotypes of gender identity through comedic and dramatic story telling set to music. Their five years of steady performance and large fan base has helped them to become New England's premiere drag king troupe. All The Kings Men was the 2004 winner of the Boston Phoenix's Reader's Choice "Best Kept Secret" Award, and Curve Magazine's choice as one of the ten nationwide winners of the "2006 Best Lesbian Theatre Award".

Peppermint Gummybear

Originally from Delaware, Peppermint got her start at the Tunnel's infamous Kurfew parties. She has also held court at Boysroom, Limelight, The Blue Whale in the Pines and the Grove on Fire Island. Now, this delicious Diva can be seen all over town at some of the hottest bars and clubs in New York City including Boysroom, Area 10018 @ Opaline, XES, Rated-X: the Panty Party, Lips and Therapy. Peppermint recently took home Glammy Awards for 3 out of 4 first time nominations, including "Best Host." She also enjoys eating ice cream!

Jenna Drey

In the ever-changing universe of dance music, there are very few artists who have the talent and support to achieve super-star pop status. Singer/songwriter Jenna Drey is prepared to prove that she is the exception. Not only does the artist have pipes of steel and a three octave range, she has assembled a top-knotch management team that includes two-time Grammy-award winning producer Nile Rodgers, known for his work with Madonna, Diana Ross, David Bowie, and Eric Clapton; Kevin Churko, sound engineer for Shania Twain; and David Frangioni, sound engineer for Aerosmith.
