Los Angeles Pride 2008 Celebrates Love. Equality. PRIDE.

Friday May 30, 2008

The diversity and pride of the dynamic gay and lesbian population in Los Angeles will once again be celebrated during the 38th annual Los Angeles Lesbian, Gay, Bi, and Transgender PRIDE celebration, including the Festival and Parade from June 6 through 8 in the City of West Hollywood.

Produced by Christopher Street West (a non-profit organization), the annual three-day LA PRIDE is one of the largest Pride Celebrations in the United States for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. LA PRIDE 2008 will feature booths, food, exhibits, dance pavilions, and live entertainment.

Celebrating the culmination of its three-year theme, "Our Agenda: Love. Equality. PRIDE.", LA PRIDE 2008's message is about taking pride in who you are, your family, your community, and the world around you.

On Friday, an After Party will follow the annual Friday night Dyke March and Rally. With over 25,000 attendees last year, the ever popular Carnal Carnival returns this year.

The Festival continues to break new ground with an entertainment line-up on the WaMu? Mainstage, and a myriad of LGBT community favorites. Festival-goers will once again see the inclusion of over a dozen of our Cultural Partners at the Festival, incredible theatrical and amazing musical organizations who have joined in support of the LGBT community.

This year's Parade will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable Channel 10 in West Hollywood and streamed on the web at LAPRIDE.org/webcast. The broadcast will be sharing the stage with the parade judges and is at the new location at the Veterans Memorial triangle at Santa Monica Blvd and Holloway. The Parade Grandstand will once again accommodate Honorees, LGBT leaders, officials, and VIP guests and will be set alongside the broadcast at the Veterans Memorial triangle.

In addition to the full-size Pride Guide, Christopher Street West will again provide a Pocket Pride Guide filled with PRIDE essentials. At a glance you'll know the who, what, where, when and how of the Pride Celebration. The LA PRIDE website (LAPRIDE.org) has expanded coverage and your celebration can be started early by becoming a friend on the LA PRIDE MySpace page, where you will also find this year's bands featured in "Top Friends".
