Chi G/L Hall Nominations Extended
The 2008 deadline to nominate individuals and organizations for induction into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame has been extended to August 12.
Since 1991, the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame has been a unique-to-America municipal recognition of dedicated individuals and organizations. Induction into the Hall of Fame symbolizes that the recipient either has made a contribution with far-reaching effects on the quality of life for Chicago's lesbian and gay community or the city of Chicago as a whole.
"Chicago is the only known municipality that so honors its gay and lesbian residents," says city liaison Bill Greaves. "The Hall of Fame not only pays tribute to these individuals and organizations, but also documents the community's heritage and diversity through its annual ceremony, annual publication, and site on the World Wide Web
